Germany showed a pathetic display in Iceland drawing 0-0. The German media took revenge on Voller the captain as well as the players. They will have to do better this time. They play against Scotland who won 3-1 against Faroe Islands. Group 5 is proving to be a very difficult group with the top 3 teams having:
Iceland 13 points (1 more game played)
Germany 12 points
Scotland 11 points
Note that only the first team qualifies automatically and the second plays a playoff.
Germany will have to win this and any slip up may mean that they may even fail to get to 2nd place. I believe that at home they will win, because they have no choice. The team is under tremendous pressure.
